Wallets seem out of date now. I realize there’s a romanticism associated with all things vintage, but I don’t think wallets fit into this paradigm. Wallets have surpassed their usefulness. Kind of like hackneys, flip phones, Tang, Reebok pumps and schooners.Here’s why you don’t need a wallet:
- We live in a digital world. Implanted chips are just around the corner. Leave your house with some cash, an ID and a credit card.
- You have a smart phone. Family photos of your precious kids? On your phone. Business cards? On your phone. Receipts? In your email.
- Loose change? Please donate.
- It’s simple, light weight and minimal. It’s 2014, we’re supposed to be in flying cars.
- It requires simplicity and therefore thought into what you carry. You’re not a hoarder are you?
- The right money clip becomes an additional fashion accessory. The same could be said for wallets, but I’m anti-wallets, so you know my thoughts.
