WATERWOLF ELECTRIC SURFBOARD

Price: $10,300
Everybody is claiming after CES 2013 that the biggest industry that is open for innovation is clothing and wearable technology. We love the current trend of smart watches and combining technology into one convenient small package but we want to make the claim of a different industry open for innovation: water sports. Boats haven’t really evolved a ton lately and are basically limited to adding bells and whistles but not really looking at the boat and saying, “how can we improve that?”. We all know that jet-ski’s and wave runners are a blast to ride but there really hasn’t been much change in them since the 90′s when they blew up. They might go faster and be a smoother ride but aside from that, not much has changed. We could talk about canoes but who really wants to work that hard to get across water when they should just get something with a motor? We prefer to avoid any physical labor when possible which is why we feel that there needs to be a revolution in water vehicles.
Cue the Waterwolf which is an awesome looking electronic surfboard. That means that those of us living in the midwest that are unable to get to the ocean on a regular basis and have to resolve to the Lake of the Ozarks for our water getaways will actually be able to enjoy a surfboard. The Waterwolf is an electronic surfboard that can go up to 18 to 22 mph and is solely run off electricity. It also can get roughly to 30 minutes of run time on a single charge and is powered by a propeller. You have the controller along with a sensor that will shut the board down when you try pulling a dumb stunt and fall off. The main downside to Waterwolf is that it appears to not be available in the US quite yet. The fact that it’s electric should be enough of an appeal to everybody that might have reservations about it coming to the US. Via Gadgets4Guys
