There has been a big move to innovate products that have been the same for years and years (more like decades). We saw somebody create a built-in shot glass into the bottom of a Red Solo Cup which was long overdue on Shark Tank. We have seen Pebble revolutionize the watch by making it “smarter”. Google decided to turn everybody into Glassholes by developing Google Glass which basically puts your smartphone into your glasses (still very innovative). We even saw somebody try to turn a run of the mill ring into a digital display that syncs with your smartphone. Some of these innovations were very detailed and technical while others were a simple tweak to an already existing product. There has been one product that smokers (and non-smokers) will go nowhere without which is a lighter and that has been long overdue for some innovation. This is America and we want our lighter to do more than just light.

The LighterBro team reached out to Gadgets 4 Guys and let us know about their great new product that does exactly what every American wants. They made the standard lighter better. We all think that Zippo style lighters are cool but nobody ever fills the lighter up again once it runs out of fuel. LighterBro has created a case that fits over the cheap little Bic® lighters we all have and adds a few more tools to the mix. LighterBro fits snugly over a lighter and turns it into a multi-functional tool that includes a knife, screwdriver and scissors. We were really surprised with the solid feel and weight of LighterBro because we half anticipated cheap materials. You can tell that they took the extra step in creating this Swiss Army Knife for a lighter right when you pick it up. All of the tools are spring loaded which make the product that much nicer. While the knife and scissors are handy, we really liked the small screwdriver because it is the perfect size to fix glasses when a screw falls out. The tool remains compact in size and fits perfectly with the standard lighter which adds to its appeal. There are two different finishes (silver and black) so you should find a finish that works for you. We loved the LighterBro and were impressed with this simple lighter addition. The price is right and it will last many a lifetime of those disposable lighters.
