Atlas Fitness Tracker: Another Great Player In Wearable Technology

Wearable technology is all of the rage right now and we’re trying to turn everything into something that can read us our text messages. We are also trying to track our activity and have seen a gold rush of people getting into these fitness trackers.

Atlas has taken IndieGoGo by storm! Asking for $125,000 in their crowdfunding campaign, they’ve blown way past that. With 16 days still left to go, they’re already at $486,000. So what has captured so many people’s attention?

The Atlas Fitness Tracker promises to track everything. This wrist-mounted device features an active display, a heart rate monitor, x, y, and z axis tracking and advanced software. It knows what exercise you're doing, and can also give you feedback on whether you're cheating or using proper form. It's waterproof, so it can also track swimming exercises, and knows the difference between breaststroke, freestyle, and everything else. In addition, it can actually learn new exercises, so whether you're training at your local gym of lifting boulders and swinging swords in the wilderness, it can adapt.

You can support the IndieGoGo campaign for $189 as an early bird. They expect to ship in December 2014.

Amazon Fire TV : The Only Streaming Box You Will Need

Searching on smart TVs is typically a usability nightmare, involving frantic navigation around an on-screen keyboard pecking out words. I’ll admit, when the Fire TV was announced last month, I didn’t think it was really necessary. As I already have an Apple TV and thought that was enough. Since I really don’t watch much TV

Released just last month in the US, Amazon Fire TV is a set-top media streaming box, offering hundreds of existing Android favorites, each playable with its custom game pad (sold separately for $39.99.)

Amazon is also developing in its own games studios to create exclusive titles - such as third-person shooter Sev Zero available at launch. At $99 the box is hardly going head-to-head in the living room space with the PS4 or Xbox One, but for the money could this offer the definitive Android gaming experience?

The main things that are going to get me to buy the Fire TV is the fact that Amazon Prime Instant Video isn’t available on Android – only Kindle Fire devices – which means no Chromecast support.

THIRD RAIL IPHONE CASE DETACHABLE BATTERY PACK

The stylish and compact Third Rail Slim Case for iPhone with Slide on Smart Battery has finally been launched in Canada and is a great juice pack option alternative.

The pack's detachable batteries can also power other mobile devices which allows you to enjoy the thickness of the iPhone.
Unlike other cases, the battery is not attached to the case and provides enought power to charge your phone.
Note that it's possible to add batteries to the system and to charge another device using a wire USB.

The Third Rail iPhone case can be sold here www.thirdrailmobility.com

Magnetuck™ shirt stays : No more looking like an office bum

I really despise tucking in shirts. Back in high school I'd get detentions for having my shirt untucked at least 2 or 3 times a week (yeah I went to a private school). The main reason I can't stand tucking a shirt into my pants is because the shirt is going to be bunched up somewhere. Shirts clearly are not made to be tucked in.

However, the guys from Magnetuck found a very cool solution to what they call PSS (Puffy Shirt Syndrome ). They started experimenting with magnets that were essentially meant to keep shirts and undershirts together to help prevent untucking and then it evolved to what you see here.

Trying it today for the first time. It works very well. Rode my bike to work and my shirt has stayed tucked in. You don't notice the magnets at all (I was worried they would be uncomfortable) and they aren't noticeable on your person, even in slim cut pants. The ball in particular isn't uncomfortable because the rounded part faces outward (i.e., not against your skin), so it's only the flat part against your body. Can't feel it whatsoever.

Great product! Magnetuck cost $30 and can be purchased here

P.S: Shaq seems to like them too ;)
