We have been seeing more and more technology use smartphones in different ways. There have been some really successful products that improve life and then there have been the ones that should never be spoken about again. There have been phone cases that claimed to make your iPhone completely impervious to water but the second you spilled your beer on it, your phone immediately stopped working. We had the toilet paper holder that had Bluetooth speakers built into it when you wanted to belt out a Whitney Houston tune while on the throne (terrible idea). Other ideas that should be forgotten was the flex band that simply wrapped around your cell phone (blocking half the screen) and tried to tell you it was actually a wallet. Somebody created an actual steering wheel mount that you could place a smartphone into so you could keep the phone in view while driving (I think that is the actual definition of distracting the driver).
We don’t want you to think that all is bad. There have been some great inventions in recent history and we stumbled onto one called StickR TrackR. We featured one of their other products not long ago but StickR TrackR offers some very unique opportunities to those that have a penchant for losing stuff. The device itself is almost the exact same size as a quarter which allows you to place it with just about anything. If you lose the item you have attached StickR TrackR to, you can actually open their app and see where on the map was the last place you had it. If you’re in range of the StickR TrackR, you can actually activate an alarm within the app that will create a very loud beeping to make it easier to find. That two way communication works both ways because if you lose your smartphone and the TrackR is in range of it, you can press the button on StickR TrackR to activate a ringer on your phone (even if on silent).
